Scottish Youth Rally 2016

ACN Scotland are very excited to announce that we will be having another youth rally on the 16th June 2016.

The event is following a similar rally held in 2015 where 1,200 youngsters pledged their support for oppressed Christians – in countries such as Iraq, Syria, Nigeria and Pakistan – where persecution has increased dramatically in recent years.

Aid to the Church in Need has invited every Catholic High School in Scotland again to support the meeting.  The aim of the day will be to raise awareness and inspire those attending to pray, spread information and take action in support of the persecuted Church. Find out also how your school can fundraise to support young people less fortunate than you.

A speaker with first-hand experience of persecution will be the keynote speaker and is yet to be confirmed. Also due to attend are Bishop John Keenan of Paisley and Bishop Joseph Toal of Motherwell, who will represent the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Scotland.

Will your School join us?

The theme this year is: Standing up for Faith and Freedom

The violence and oppression experienced by Christians and other religious minorities, has become so severe that in the Middle East and Nigeria they are faced with wipe-out.

The world has been mostly silent on the right to have religious freedom.

Come and join us in June to learn and pray about the forgotten human rights issue of the day.

The day will include: Adoration, The Rosary, international Catholic speakers and praise & worship music.
